When asked how unit appears to be holding up (is 11 yrs old), told me it appears to be in very good shape and that I have a very good unit. Highly Recommend!!! Our AC unit stopped working late Friday. I called the emergency phone number & really didn’t expect an inspection until the next day b/c it was after 7:30pm. The technician Matt called me back after leaving a message very promptly. He... said he had 2 more calls & was far away at that moment & wouldn’t be able to get by until the next day. Surprisingly, he ended up calling me shortly after we scheduled the visit & said he had a cancellation & could make it the same night! Had my system replaced with new system at the companys recommendation due to a freon leak in the A coil. The new system worked fine until time to shift from cooling to heating then it had to be reset by turning the breaker off waiting five minutes then turn... the breaker back on. Have had them come back several times. Each time the service tech adjusted the freon charge and said some part needed to be replaced. The last visit I was informed this would cost approx $450. I feel that this problem should have been resolved a long time ago.read more

Having our AC go belly up when I was providing in-home hospice for my husband was extremely stressful, to say the least. The folks at Mitchell couldn't have been nicer to deal with, and they helped take some of the pain out of the situation. Decent prices, too! Ryan came to our home and cleaned out the condensation tube on our HVAC system. This had previously (one month ago, literally) been done by another company. In the process of a home inspection, the tubing was requested to be replaced. The technician stated it did not need to be replaced, but blown out. Not sure what he did but one month later it was clogged again, and probably should have been replaced as we requested. Upon calling them to come back they DECLINED. We moved into a new house that needed some work. Another A rated Angie’s List HVAC company came and wanted to install new AC, Furnace, and Ductwork. Our inspector let us know that the furnace was an issue, but the other problems were news to us. Our AC had been tripping a breaker, but the unit was fairly new. Their estimate was $8500. We called Mitchell Cooling + Heating and they came out. Chris said the furnace needed to be replaced and that the ductwork needed to be repaired, not replaced. The AC was fine. His estimate: $3200. We went with him. His crew did a very good job and was fast and friendly. A week later the AC tripped the breaker again. One of the crew came out and inspected many things and told us he thought it was electrical. Sure enough it was. If he hadn’t been so thorough, it would have been easy to think it was the AC unit. He realized it was a $250 electrical problem and not $3000 AC problem. These guys are honest and price conscious.
